why would it matter?

The Bible says that our body is the temple of God, and we should treat it as such. We don't just paint whatever we want on our churches do we???

I say it's ok...That doesn't however mean that I'm going to run out and get one. however i do believe that some tatoos, such as dragons, should be refrained from.

first we need to find out why or who started the tattooing of the body. it is a pagan practice, and as christians, who are in the world not of it, i dont believe that we should practice tattooing. sure some of it is very pretty, but dont let
that lure you into being identified as something that you are not.

I would like to add that I am a "Born AGAIN" Christian and before I was saved I had 9
Tattoos. One of which was not pleasing to the LORD so I had it covered up

- I think it is what is INSIDE your heart that matters to GOD - Not what is on the outside of the shell that I live in.

It's not a bad thing to get a tattoo although they are certainly
not for everyone.

God gives us the answer, so it does not realy matter what we think BUT what God
instructs us on how we should live.

Leviticus 19:28
" 'Do not cut your bodies for the
dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord .
(Whole Chapter: Leviticus 19 In context: Leviticus 19:27-29)

in Leviticus we are told
"ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print (tattoo) any marks upon you". (KJV)therefore, the FINAL word is GOD's. Regardless of anyones personal preference,

GOD says NO.

He is the FINAL authority.

I have seven tattoo's, I got them a long
time before I found Christ. I want to tell everyone that is thinking about
getting one, Don't Do It !, if you feel you need one use the kind
you can wash off when you get trired of looking at it...LOL! Realy

Our body is the holy Temple of God. The
Holy spirit resides in us. We should not defile it. Would you draw on a church? Why not? What would it matter? Are we not more prescious than a building?Not to mention in leviticus it says not to and Jesus did not

Leviticus 19:27---and don't say that Lev 19:26 says not to touch our
beard with a razor and justify 19:27 witht hat because 19:28 says not to
prostitute thy daughter and I am sure we all agree that is not right just
like tattoos are not right then again as free to sin as Christians are
these days ....prostituting daughters is probibly alright with some
Christians. Do a servey on that and maybe 30 percent will say yet to that
too.

at first i voted that it was ok for
Christians to have a tatoo, but after reading the other comments I now
would say that it is wrong to have a tatoo.

but what about earrings etc.?

I find this question to be absolutly ludicris. But then I forget I am from the LA area in Southern CA & more recently NY. The online communities I hang out in tend to be full of us "crazies" who believe God gave us freedom and enjoys art as much as we do.

Everytime I step outside of that I am amazed. But I have to step outside of that. If I don't I will box myself in just like those "cookie cutter" christians I once wrongfully despised.
