Prior to reading this message, please read The Ten.
Exodus 20:8-1120:8 Remember the Sabbath day to sanctify it. 20:9 For six days you may labor and do all your work, 20:10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; on it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, or your male servant, or your female servant, or your cattle, or your resident foreigner who is in your gates. 20:11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, and he rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and sanctified it.
This lovely commandment is nestled right between "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain," and "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land" which is followed by "You shall not kill." and "You shall not commit adultery."
We obviously support the no killing and no adultery part. Many Christian live their lives as though the rest are recommendations even though they all rank in the Top Ten of things that God requires, yea, commands us to do. We'll cover the remaining Commandments in other messages. For now, let's focus on remembering the Sabbath and sanctifying it.

Most fundamental Christians profess to believe in nothing but the literal translation of the Bible. While this statement may sound spiritually noble, it is somewhat flawed and should be embarrassing. (In just two sentences, I have managed to lose half of my readers) If you decided to stay with us, I am sure you'll find this article enlightening and inspirational.
