Angels In Matching Teeshirts

Sunday, March 03, 2002 (13:03:01)
It was a long week.  No one got much sleep around the house.  One of our sons was preparing to go to college.  Sorting through and packing items, collected over the years, he was a little apprehensive about what college life would be like.

Bumper Sticker

The car behind me was dangerously close to my bumper.  Call me old-fashioned, but when I cannot see the headlights of a car behind me, im my rear-view mirror, and I am traveling 65mph, they are too close.

<HONK!> <HONK!>  Oh great, now she is in a hurry to get around.  There is nowhere for me to go.  Rush hour traffic is too heavy on this stretch of highway.

Bear

He was handsome far above many others.  He had thick, black shiny hair that formed a beautiful mane. His dark eyes sparkled with silent laughter and he almost skipped when he walked.  At first appearance, you would think he was a tough guy when he would slightly bow his head and give a low growl.  But deep down inside, we knew he was a softy.

If there is any one thing that the movie makers of Hollywood can do, it is that they can leave a lasting impression in your mind.  I remember going to the theater as a little boy.  I would spend Saturdays with my grandparents and have a wonderful time.  My granddaddy would give me a dollar and I would walk the few short blocks to the theater.  With that one dollar I was able to see the movie and buy a coke and popcorn and still have money left to visit the Woolworth five and dime store.

Should Christians Shoot Burglars

Friday, March 01, 2002 (22:52:00)
It is 2:23 in the morning and the house is dark and silent. You are fast asleep, when all of a sudden you are awakened with a  [thump]. You open your eyes and shift them left and right, trying to see if it was just a dream. [THUMP] There it is again. It sounds as though someone is hurriedly rummaging through the cabinets downstairs. You shudder with fear for just a moment and hold your breath. There is definitely someone else in the house. You think "Shall I call out?"  "If they know I am awake, will I be in danger?"  "Maybe they'll leave."  You reach for a handgun tucked in the nightstand drawer and hold it tightly. Your bedroom door opens and a stranger stands there looking into the darkness.
