My Church?

Tuesday, March 26, 2002 (02:02:23)
MY CHURCH? I tuned to a Christian radio station while driving to the store in my automobile last week.  I listen to the station very frequently for I enjoy the music that they play on the air.  Of course, the price to listen to the music is that I must also listen to the commercial.  One particular commercial really caught my ear.

No Additives

Sunday, March 24, 2002 (09:51:00)
Acts 11:26
And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Notice the scriptures do not refer to the followers of Christ as Fundamental Christians or Bapticostal, or The Restructure Federation of Christian States...  They were Christians, with no artifical additives.

This Rock is Big!

Thursday, March 21, 2002 (12:04:26)
A ROCK...A BIG ROCK Not far from where I live there is a rock.  This rock is not just an ordinary rock, but rather it is very unique rock.  It is different from the other rocks near my house.  This is not the kind of rock that you can pick up and skip it across the water.  It is not even a rock that you might want to use in a rock garden.  This rock is big. I mean, this rock is REALLY big!

Shut My Mouth

Tuesday, March 12, 2002 (21:28:52)
We all remember glimpses of our past, but, especially as we grow older we might not remember every detail.  I remember a friend of my mother who had a favorite expression that she would always use.  If someone would tell her a fascinating story, or a piece of "juicy" gossip about another, she would always use this expression.  "Lord, shut my mouth!," she would exclaim.  I don't remember her name or even much about her, yet I will never forget the saying, "Lord, shut my mouth!" I am not sure why the Lord brought this to my remembrance today...well, on second thought maybe I do know why.

Armchair Quarterbacks

Wednesday, March 06, 2002 (00:00:00)
Armchair quarterbacks consider themselves some of the greatest warriors and strategists in history. They know all the plays. They know each player's name and their scoring history. They know what formation the team should use, how accurately to pass the football and how to run a 90 yard touchdown. Unfortunately, they don't get a chance to play. If they did, the game would surely be different.
