Many years ago, I hid myself away working night-shifts. The reasons why are not really important here, you just need to know that I did. Over the seven years I did this, I noticed that there were two distinct groups of people working with me (and, eventually, FOR me).

I was recently looking through the community boards of a Christian website I occasionally frequent. There was an Encounter/Finding Faith section which asked 5 simple questions. I answered them as truthfully as I could and then realised that maybe I should put these answers on Gentle Ministries. So here's your chance to meet Conway the man instead of Conway the bloke who rambles on and on.

So read on gentle reader! (Hey! See what I did there - Gentle Ministries; gentle reader. What do you mean, "Very clever, I don't think". Sheesh, some people don't recognise comedy if it hits them between the eyes - with a custard pie).

I was reading the lesson in Church yesterday when a most remarkable thing happened. I was giving the details such as "Todays reading is John, Chapter 20, reading from verse 24 to 31 which can be found on page 1089 on the bible" and making a total mess of it. For some reason I had become very nervous and anxious.

But when I began to read the text, oh boy, what a thing. A feeling of absolute, total calm descended on me and I read with a clarity and emotion that left the congregation amazed. Oh, the passion and feeling I was able to put into the reading. I had absolutely no doubt that I was in exactly the right place doing exactly what God wanted me to do at that moment.

Earrings for men have moved in and out of fashion throughout the years. When they entered the scene close to twenty years ago, many people were shocked at the sight of seeing a man wear something typically only worn by a woman. As the years passed, even the churches came to ignore the little sparkle on a man's ear lobe. I guess we all get used to things after seeing them for a while.

I refrained from getting an earring for years simply because I didn't want one...until I learned more about them.

I have been sent this article and the authors understanding of the nature of God moved me to want to share it with the you. I'm sure that a Christian theologian could pick holes in it but the article was written from the heart and, I believe, it deserves an uncritical reading.
