We were navigating our way through a crowded parking lot in search of a place for lunch. The other lane was blocked up ahead and a pickup truck pulling a beautiful new boat was in our lane, headed straight for us. Realizing his predicament, I stopped to let him pass. As he went by, I smiled and waved. He looked straight ahead, never acknowledging my act of kindness. My feathers ruffled, I watched in the rearview mirror as he rudely drove away. Shortly thereafter, I heard a horn honk and looked into my mirror again. The driver of the truck was honking at a tractor trailer that was trying to back out of an alley. He didn't see or hear the pickup truck and backed into the new boat. The driver of the pickup truck jumped out and began SCREAMING at the driver of the big rig. I smiled and drove on...
