We've All Been There

Sunday, July 27, 2008 (02:25:17)
MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (AP) -- A 56-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of shooting his lawn mower because it wouldn't start. He told police: "I can do that, it's my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want," however, if found guilty, he could face an eleven thousand dollar fine and spend six years and three months in prison.

Perhaps him being drunk and using a sawed off shotgun upset the locals.

We've all been there.  Smile

I see Robert Powell

Wednesday, July 09, 2008 (14:09:12)
I’ve always had a problem with Easter. Not as a festival and not because of what it represents – quite the reverse. I see the nails, the stripped flesh, the pain, the tears. I see Holy Week as a physical thing – primarily, the total destruction of the body of Jesus Christ. I wish I could see it symbolically. It would be so much easier to bear.

Are You A Liar?

Friday, March 21, 2008 (03:52:53)

People tell lies all the time.  Everyone tells lies.  Some people don't even know they are lying and here's an example.

According to actwin.com, starlingwatersystems.com, uvsingapore.com, scaleviper.com and many, many more websites, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency states, "Distilled water, being essentially mineral-free, is very aggressive, in that it tends to dissolve substances with which it is in contact.

Google this and you will receive about 41 results.

Sounds ominous, doesn't it?  After reading that, only a fool would want to drink or cook with distilled water.  But is that statement the truth or a lie.  You might think it's the truth because so many sites are quoting the EPA, but let's find out to be sure.

A Season of Meat and Idols

Monday, December 24, 2007 (16:59:56)
I Corinthians 8:1-4
1Co 8:1  With regard to food sacrificed to idols, we know that "we all have knowledge." Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
1Co 8:2  If someone thinks he knows something, he does not yet know to the degree that he needs to know.
1Co 8:3  But if someone loves God, he is known by God.
1Co 8:4  With regard then to eating food sacrificed to idols, we know that "an idol in this world is nothing," and that "there is no God but one."

When I was a kid, my family went to a Baptist church.  There, I learned that Catholics were all going to hell because after all, the Catholic church is the great whore spoken of in the book of Revelation.  Right behind them would be the Episcopalians and Lutherans because they are Catholics in disguise.  Hey, all I'm telling you is what I was taught.

Martin Luther's Dressing Gown

Friday, June 15, 2007 (23:07:26)
There was always one phrase I dreaded more than any other.

"After your bath, put your dressing gown on over your pyjamas because Grandma's coming".

No, it wasn't the thought of Grandma's imminent arrival that terrified me, nor was it the thought of the bath (that only came later - only joking).
