With the darkness...
comes the vision;
With the vision...
comes the fear;
With the fear...

Yes, Tell Me That!

Friday, November 22, 2002 (09:55:16)

“Oh yes, brother, follow Jesus. He wants to prosper you. He’ll give you a bigger house, better car, more lucrative job. The blessings, you see.”

This puts smiles on faces, prompts many amens and swells the offering. It also puts bottoms on seats. It’s the preaching people love to hear.

The Bible says in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers, and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”

If Jesus Were Born Today

Speak for Yourself

Leaders in Arab countries have stated that if the United States attacks Iraq, it will be an attack on all Muslim nations. In short, it will be a religious war because they say it will be. Unfortunately, some high-profile religious leaders have added fuel to that fire. These religious leaders appear to be competing for the "I Can't Believe He Said That" award.Perception is 9/10 of reality and the world is formulating an interesting perception of Christians in the United States.On September 30, Jerry Falwell stated that Muhammad "was a -- a violent man, a man of war. I think Muhammad was a terrorist."A protest that followed in Bombay, India, turned into a riot, and five people were killed. Falwell later apologized...sort of.

Can You Hear Me Now?

Tuesday, November 12, 2002 (09:06:23)
There is a television commercial for a cellular phone companythat shows a man walks around the countryside asking "Can you hear me now?" He will pause and then say, "Good" and move to the next location where the conversation is repeated. This happens over and over again. I can't even remember what company the commercials are promoting. The man never actually says anything of value. He just wants to beheard. All I can remember is the line, "Can you hear me now?"
