Living Under A Curse? - Consider The Source
There are some people down the street who believe and proclaim that my wife and I are living under a curse. They believe our lives and property are cursed because of my wife's refusal to submit to my authority. They believe that her illness is related to this curse and so is our financial situation and other trials
To determine if this proclamation is true or false, let's examine the source.
This proclamation is given by a man who believes the government is beaming microwaves and magnetic energy to control the minds of the citizens. He also believes that the government is using aircraft to spread mind controlling chemicals, the bird flu is a government conspiracy and so is genetically modified meat and plants. His response to these and other bizarre personal beliefs is to procure more weapons and ammunition than local law enforcement. (I'm sure that will help)
On a spiritual note, he believes that the ancient scribes conspired to remove the name of Yahweh from the scriptures and that only a certain, chosen few have knowledge of this great conspiracy. (How he would have knowledge of an undocumented, unholy, secret pact is beyond me) The proclamation of this so-called curse comes from a man who believes that a person has no chance of spending eternity with our Elohim unless he (or she) regularly uses and speaks the name of Yahweh correctly. Yet, just in case he might be wrong, he also dismisses the notion of hell, a lake of fire, eternal torment where the worm dieth not, etc. (because he says those references were not in the original scriptures) In his spiritual world, hell simply means being banished to non-existence, in and of itself being sufficient punishment for sin. [shrug]
The proclamation that my wife and I are living under a curse is given by the man whose wife argues and swears at him, resisting his lordship every step of the way. She speaks disrespectfully of him behind his back to her friends and acquaintances and has even done so to my wife on many occasions. He is just now beginning to discover what his family thinks about him.
One of his sons recently left home because he was sick and tired of his dad's heavy-handed lordship, his other son is going to marry a girl he met online at a Yahweh's people matchmaking service and his daughter is fond of a person from another race, igniting this man's racist ire. This is also a man who is facing an impending, horrific financial catastrophe. Even though my wife and I are saddened and hurt by these bizarre public proclamations, we wish these people no harm or even discomfort.
We must be cautious when speaking ill of others lest that calamity visit our own house and lives. I am old enough to have seen this happen time and time again. It is usually best not to engage someone who behaves in this manner, someone who uses G-d to justify his or her personal desires. What or who is the source of this so-called curse? We can all probably guess, can't we? |
