GETTING THE ANSWERS TO OUR PRAYERS

Sunday, October 24, 2004 (05:45:00)
Pastor Bruce Ball

For October 24, 2004

LUKE 1:5-23

All of us have gone to God before, asking Him to answer our prayers, haven’t we? It seems like each time we need something, we are there asking Him to help us. And, there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, there is everything right with it. You have heard me say many times that we are supposed to be fully dependant upon God for everything. And, what better way to show our dependence upon Him than to do so in prayer.[/color]

I'm Dead

Thursday, October 21, 2004 (06:10:00)
Some of you may not have been aware I was dying and most of you don't know I died recently. There was no funeral, no music and no friends came to give their respects. Before I continue this eulogy and you jump to conclusions, let me explain. It wasn't "me" who died. It was the other me. Some of you have seen me with your eyes. What you saw was the "biological unit" me, or my physical presence. There is the fleshly me and the spiritual me and we live in the biological unit me. I know it sounds confusing and it did to me too at first.

Dust Off Your Dostoevsky

Monday, October 18, 2004 (04:20:00)
"Money is coined liberty, and so it is ten times dearer to a man who is deprived of freedom"
Dostoevsky (House Of The Dead, Part 1)

There are many different types of imprisonment. Some are imprisoned because they have committed crimes. Some are imprisoned by their government because they highlight the governments crimes. There are many millions of people in the world who are still bound to that most loathsome of things, slavery. But those are only physical imprisonment. What about those who are imprisoned by ignorance, fear or hatred. What of those who are encumbered with self-loathing? There are many who are chained by grief or guilt - or a sense of failure.

The Good Samaritan (Joke)

Sunday, October 17, 2004 (16:10:00)
The Sunday school teacher was telling her class the story of the Good Samaritan, in which a man was beaten, robbed and left for dead.

She described the situation in vivid detail so her students would catch the drama.

Then she asked the class, "If you saw a person lying on the roadside all wounded and bleeding, what would you do?"
